James W. “Jim” Conger, Jr., born and bred in Bainbridge, Georgia, is the third generation of Conger lawyers to practice here. Jim graduated from Bainbridge High in 1965, UGA in 1970, and Mercer Law School in 1973.
After beginning the practice of law in the Macon branch of Georgia Legal Services, Jim returned home in 1974 to work at Conger and Conger, the firm formed by his grandfather A. B. Conger and his father J. Willis Conger (later joined by his uncle Leonard). After his father’s death in 1978, Jim co-founded Kirbo and Conger, and later, Conger and Fryer. Jim has been in solo practice since 1996 at his office on the corner of Water and West Streets in Bainbridge.
